I'm sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but there it is. There is no rational reason to embrace the theory of Darwinism, in any of its incarnations (Neo-Darwinism, Punk Eeq, etc.). The fossil record doesn't provide support for the theory (hence the need to come up with "punctuated equilibrium"). Decades of research into fruit flies and bacteria do not provide support for the theory (except in the fevered minds of the true believers). Logical reasoning does not support Darwinism (unless the Darwinists' presuppositions are true, something that cannot be determined by empirical research, ironically enough).
What does support Darwinism in all its forms? Government. The only reason the Theory of (macro)Evolution is still around is that governments fund and promote and build walls of laws around it to protect it from challenge. Why would governments do this? Because the Theory of (macro)Evolution asserts that people are just masses of matter and energy; randomly produced piles of chemical reactions that can be controlled by "scientific processes" and thus the proles can be forced, by manipulating their own natural juices, to act as hosts to the gov't parasites.
